Murgh Tikka - A Chicken Tikka Recipe

Juicy, smooth grilled fowl subtly flavored with Indian spices, this Murgh Tikka - or chicken Tikka is considered one of my preferred Indian dishes!  in case you've ever wanted to attempt Indian food,  this smooth and fragrant yogurt marinated hen is the only to attempt!

Murgh Tikka - A Chicken Tikka Recipe


  • 1 teaspoon chile powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamon
  • 3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 3 Tbsp. Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 cup full fat plain yogurt
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons coriander
  • 1 Tablespoon garam masala


  1. In a tumbler bowl upload  the yogurt. upload the ginger garlic paste after which the chile powder, turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala and groun cardamon. blend. 
  2. upload the lime juice and stir to very well combine. 
  3. cut up the chook into portions approximately 1 inch rectangular.
  4. upload the chook to the tikka paste  combination and stir to mix. 
  5. Refrigerate for two hours and up to 1 day. 
  6. Soak approximately 10 -12 6 inch wooden skewers in water for 15 to 30 minutes or extra. get rid of the chook from the refrigerator and let come to room temperature. 
  7. Scrape the grill and pre warmth to medium excessive warmth. 
  8. Thread the fowl portions onto the skewers so that they healthy readily and are not too packed. 
  9. Grill the skewers for 2 - 3 mins in step with facet until the bird has dark brown grill marks and is cooked thru.
